In a bittersweet moment for the world of fashion, today we say goodbye to the fashion legend, an icon who broke all the rules – Iris Apfel, at the age of 102.

Iris, who passed away peacefully at her Florida residence at the remarkable age of 102, was more than a fashion figure—she was also a force of nature, a living example of fearless self-expression, and an inspiration to generations. Known for her oversized round glasses, eclectic layers of accessories, and a vibrant mix of patterns and textures, Iris Apfel’s style is a feast for the eyes.

However, Apfel’s style wasn’t just about the clothes. It was an expression of joy, individuality, and the sheer audacity to wear what makes you feel phenomenal. With a twinkle in her eye and a nonchalant wit, Apfel proved that fashion has no age limit and that the most daring outfit is the one you own with confidence.

Therefore, this post is dedicated to Iris, in which I will recommend documentaries about her, and other fashion films with her participation.

Clearly, it is impossible to try to pick Iris’ best looks, because every outfit of her is beyond words.

Yet, here are some examples from her Instagram page (I strongly recommend following her page, as it displays hundreds of her outfits):

To sum up, here is a quote from the one and only, Iris Apfel:

“I never had to look for confidence because I just wore what I wanted to wear. I would never wear anything to offend my husband or my mother, but outside of that, I always figured, I hope I’m not a rebel, and I hope everybody liked it. And if they didn’t like it, it really wasn’t going to disturb me because it was their problem, not mine”.
